Mathematics

To support a culture in which the students of the Clark County School District develop a foundation for mathematics, the Mathematics Department of the Curriculum and Instruction Division (CID) will work to ensure that all students have equal access to high quality instruction and rigorous mathematical content aligned to the Nevada Academic Content Standards (NVACS), engaging them in meaningful learning through individual and collaborative experiences that promote their ability to make sense of mathematical ideas and reason mathematically.

Through resources developed and support provided by CID, teachers will have the tools and knowledge to transform their classrooms to student-centered learning experiences that promote mathematical discourse, reasoning, and problem-solving. Setting these foundations for students will promote a culture in which students value and utilize mathematics in everyday life, and will create students ready for college and career.
