Fine and Performing Arts
The Fine and Performing Arts Department is committed to empowering all students of the Clark County School District (District) to achieve their creative potential through quality artistic experiences that instill lifelong involvement in and appreciation of the Arts (Visual and/or Media Arts, Music, Dance, and Theatre). The Fine and Performing Arts Department of the Curriculum and Instruction Division (CID) will work to ensure that all students have equal access to high-quality instruction aligned to the Nevada Academic Content Standards (NVACS) for fine and performing arts and the chance for students to engage in meaningful opportunities in fine and performing arts events and activities.
The Fine and Performing Arts Department offers a wide range of resources geared for the students of CCSD. District-sponsored adjudicated events such as Music, Dance, and Theatre Festivals. Other performance opportunities include our district Honor Ensembles conducted by world class Performing Arts Educators. Additionally, the visual arts are supported by a variety of Art Exhibitions and Art Shows throughout the district. The Fine and Performing Arts Department also provides teachers the tools and knowledge to transform their classrooms into highly engaging learning experiences through quality in-person and online professional learning sessions along with site-specific classroom support.
The Clark County School District (CCSD) Music Education Program has earned the Best Communities for Music Education designation from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) for the 25th year in a row. The Best Communities for Music Education designation recognizes school districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in providing music access and education to all students.
