Mission
Equity & Diversity Education promotes the development of culturally responsible and responsive educational policies, practices, and curricula that foster knowledge, understanding, respect, and appreciation designed to improve achievement for all students.
Goals

To influence policies and practices that support quality teaching, learning, & leadership.

To assist educators in creating culturally supportive learning environments that hold high expectations for the academic achievement of students.

To review & support the development and/or evaluation of culturally responsible or responsive curricula.

To collaborate with school district personnel involved in educational settings outside the classroom regarding the appropriateness of culturally diverse programs and resources.

To assist the district and schools in resolving diverse educational issues affecting educators, students, parents, and the community.

To provide technical assistance in the review and integration of culturally diverse materials & resources to support the curriculum within the school & district-wide programs.

To facilitate and serve as a liaison in the development and presentation of conferences, workshops, institutes, and other educational programs in collaboration with institutions of higher learning, and professional organizations designed to enhance cultural appreciation and diversity programming for educators, students, and the community.

To represent the Clark County School District by advocating for diversity and equity educational programs for students, parents, community.

To establish partnerships with community-based organizations that support educational programs connected to students, parents, and other community groups.

To provide district staff and community educational programs with strategies aimed at closing the achievement gap.
EDE Services and Resources
Equity & Diversity Education (EDE) acknowledges that effective support for all students requires advocacy, leadership, technical assistance, resources, and professional development. EDE serves as a resource to schools & the community to support curriculum, instruction, educational programming, & to facilitate presentations, staff development, special conferences, workshops, & credit classes
Hours of Operation: EDE is open from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding recognized holidays. EDE is open throughout the traditional school holiday break periods and in the summer.
